"VOTE"
By Jim Culp
One day I went into a non-big-name burger shop in one of
the towns that I lived in here in NW Kansas. It had been opened by a retired
military guy, and I wanted to give him my business; as well as a matter of
convenience, his shop was less than a mile from my house.
I walked in, and he immediately told me that he was out
of everything except jalapeno burger, and hot polish sausages; as his delivery
truck had failed him and the lunch rush had nailed him. {didn't know I was a
poet, did ya?}
"Shit," I said. "I don't like either one
of those bro. I'll catch you another day."
He smiled and said "ok then, thank you sir."
I was off to McDonalds, or Sonic, or three other burger
places; I know them all well, and know exactly what I will get when I order
there.
What I just described was a person (me, in this case)
making a decision not to
go with what I don't like or trust on my stomach, and
moving on to another avenue.
This lesson can be applied this coming November when you
have the choice to vote for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.
The fact is you don't. You can write in any name you
want. Millions will vote for Hillary because she is a Democrat that believes in
the values of our Republic.. Millions will vote for Donald because they think
he is a Conservative Republican. Neither are either. But people will do it
anyway.
This very concept of voting for Peter because he is the
lesser evil than Paul, is what has weakened our nation to the point of being on
the verge of civil war or states declaring independence from the union. You
vote in Darth Vader because you don't want Emperor Palpatine. For those of you
that don't fancy Star Wars; you vote in Mussolini instead of Hitler. Both of
them suck, and will lead us to further decline, but you do it anyway, because
you think it helps us.
This November, vote for someone you have researched that
does a good job at his/position, or like me, write in "NO CONFIDENCE"
as a sign that you don't trust a single person that currently serves in our
government.
